An Atlantic City teen already on probation for a robbery at knife-point was arrested with a gun after a ShotSpotter alert this weekend.
Malik Lyons, 19, was arrested shortly after gunfire brought police to the 2600 block of Arctic Avenue at 8:43 p.m. Saturday, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
Officer Kevin Perez was able to get a description of the suspect and a handgun, and Officer Eric Knuttel found Lyons a short time later, according to the report.
Lyons is already serving five years’ probation for a March 1, 2018 armed robbery in Passaic County, court records show.
Lyons pleaded guilty in that case, in which he got about $582 after he brandished a knife at an employee at Cafecito restaurant in Prospect Park, and demanded money, according to those charges.
That case was transferred to Atlantic County, and Lyons was sentenced to drug rehabilitation, according to court records.
Now, he is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on the new charges, including unlawful possession of a weapon, obstruction of justice and certain person not to possess a weapon.
