Three men and a woman were arrested after an Atlantic City resident’s complaint drug activity.
Drugs were being distributed from an apartment on the first block of South Iowa Avenue, Detective Darrin Lorady was told.
One of the suspects, Eric Melton, had two active warrants, so detectives went to the apartment to arret him, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
Clyde Cummings answered the door, with Melton standing behind him, according to the report. When he saw the detectives, Melton ran toward the rear of the apartment.
The detectives found him hiding behind a bedroom door, Fair said.
Inside the apartment, they also found 600 bags of heroin, an ounce of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana, according to the charges.
Melton, 25, and Cummings, 37, were arrested along with two other people inside the apartment: Jonathan Lopez and Jamiyah Washington.
All four were charged with three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, two counts each of possession with intent to distribute and possession with intent to distribute within a school zone.
Washington, 24, of Atlantic City, and Lopez, 28, of Toms River, also had active warrants.
Cummings was released on a summons.
The other three were taken to jail. Washington was not listed as an inmate in Atlantic County.
