A Longport police officer who stopped to help a disabled motorist wound up arresting her after the car was found to be stolen.
Sgt. Jamie Silva saw the vehicle broken down around 33rd and Atlantic avenues at about 7:50 p.m. last week, police announced Thursday.
An investigation found that the driver, Christine Gildiner, was in possession of a stolen vehicle, according to the report. There was also a warrant for her arrest out of Margate.
Gildiner, 55, was taken to the station and charged with receiving stolen property, and released on a summons.
