An Egg Harbor Township man was sentenced to eight years in federal prison after admitted to receiving images of child sexual abuse.
Matthew Wolny, 41, was living in Jackson in September 2013, when he used a peer-to-peer file sharing software to download video files containing images of child pornography.
Thousands of images were found images and videos were found when he was arrested. He had been working IT for Howell schools and was volunteer assistant director of the Brick Memorial High School marching band.
He was sentenced Tuesday to 96 months in prison, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said. He also must serve an additional 10 years of supervised release.
The case was transferred to federal court last year.
He could have faced as long as 20 years in prison.
