Pleasantville man allegedly stole golf carts from Holy Spirit

A Pleasantville man was arrested after he allegedly tried to sell a golf cart stolen from Holy Spirit High School on Craigslist.Absecon police were called to the school Tuesday afternoon, after the concession stand and garage storage area were burglarized, police said.There was damage to the concession stand and other parts of the building, police said. Two golf carts and battery charges were also taken.An investigation led to a Craigslist posting, and arrangements were made to "buy" the cart.When Jahill Barley showed up, he was arrested by Absecon patrol officers with help from the Pleasantville Street Crimes Unit.The golf cart was taken and returned to the school.Further investigation found that Barley had sold the other cart the day before the crime was reported.Police called the buyer, who returned the golf cart and battery charger.Barley, 25, was charged with receiving stolen property and released on a summons.Anyone with additional information is asked to call Absecon police at 609-641-0667.
