Atlantic City DWI checkpoint leads to arrest of carjacking suspect

A DWI checkpoint in Atlantic City led to the arrest of a man wanted in a carjacking where a man was shot in Newark.

Officers Franco Sydnor and Eric Knuttel were working as part of the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign, when they saw a driver fail to stop at a red light, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.

Deon Nance could not provide a driver’s license, registration or insurance, according to the report. He was found to have a suspended license and was arrested for an active warrant for a The warrant was for Nance's involvement in the Nov. 22 carjacking. Nance, 23, is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
