Somers Point schools were in lockout for less than 20 minutes Wednesday morning.The school was notified at 9:48 a.m. by police “that there was an issue in our community and a neighboring community” and told to have students at New York Avenue, Dawes Avenue Elementary School, and Jordan Road Middle School shelter in place, the district announced on its Facebook page.It was then turned to a lockout, the district said.By 10:06 a.m., the issue had been cleared.No details were immediately available as to what sparked the move.
