A Gloucester County man was arrested Wednesday after Atlantic City police got a report of a man with a gun at the Applebee's.
Police arrived on Michigan Avenue just before 7:30 p.m., and saw the suspect leaving the restaurant, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
But Stefano Santiago did not have a gun, according to the report.
While the officers investigated, the learned that just before they got there, Santiago left the restaurant and went in between dumpsters next to the building, Fair said.
K-9 Officer Alberto Gonzalez started a track with his partner, Chalk, and found a loaded handgun, according to the report.
Santiago, 23, of Newfield, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
