A Philadelphia woman whose arrest on a Wildwood beach garnered national attention pleaded guilty to a disorder persons offense Friday.
Emily Weinman, 20, will have to serve one year of probation under the plea agreement, which was made after she was rejected for pretrial intervention.
Weinman was accused of assaulting two police officers as they tried to arrest her over the Memorial Day weekend.
She refused to give her full name after an officer tried to issue a citation for possession of alcohol by a minor.
Weinman previously turned down a plea agreement that would have had her plead to a fourth-degree crime, and carried probation as well.
But with this plea, she has no felony on her record.
A series of three videos issued from an officer’s body camera showed how the scene unfolded, including an officer hitting Weinman in her head and Weinman appearing to later spit at the officer. She has said she was just trying to get sand out of her mouth.
Now Weinman is considering whether to file a civil suit.
