Pleasantville man admits to promoting prostitution

  • News

A convicted sex offender has admitted to forcing women into prostitution through threats and drugs.
Henry Lovest, 42, was arrested last year after investigators from the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit searched two rooms in Pleasantville’s Homestead Lodge.
They also recovered a stolen handgun.
Lovest pleaded guilty Tuesday to third-degree promoting prostitution and second-degree certain person not to possess a firearm, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner announced Thursday.
He faces seven years under the plea agreement, and would have to serve at least five under the No Early Release Act.
Lovest is scheduled to be sentenced March 8.
In 2009, he was sentenced to five years in prison for second-degree sexual assault out of Cape May County.
