A Pleasantville High School teacher has been charged with official misconduct after allegedly having a sexual relationship with a student.
Jessica Gaeckle, 30, of Galloway Township, was arrested Friday, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
She allegedly had sexual relations with an 18-year-old student on at least two occasions, and then directed the student to destroy evidence after she learned of a pending criminal investigation.
She is charged with two counts of official misconduct and one count of hindering apprehension.
Gaeckle was released on a summons.
The investigation is a cooperative effort between the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Pleasantville Police Department.
