Homicide investigation ongoing in death of EHT man missing since 2014

  • News

Two years after a missing Egg Harbor Township man's remains were found, the investigation into his death continues, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said Friday.
Barry Brown, 55, was reported missing Oct. 7, 2014. His remains were found Jan. 25, 2017, along the wood line of an undeveloped private property at 1201 Doughty Road, next to the Atlantic County Utilities Authority landfill.
A positive identification was made Feb. 2, 2017. That April, the manner of death was ruled a homicide. The prosecutor did not say how Brown was killed.
“As we were able to positively identify these remains as those of Barry Brown and also determine the cause of death to be a homicide, I urge anyone with information about Barry Brown’s disappearance and subsequent death to come forward and speak with our investigators,” Tyner said.
