  • Crime-Courts

Ventnor police have arrested a Burlington County man in a shooting that wounded a man at a New Year’s Eve party held at an Airbnb.

Tamon Sykes, 23, of Willingboro, was charged late Thursday night in the shooting that happened at a home on South Vassar Square less than 3½ hours into 2019, Police Chief Doug Biagi said.

An argument at the party led to gunshots, police said at the time.

The 26-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Sykes is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
The investigation was led by Detective Peter Munizza of the Ventnor City Police Department.

Biagi thanked the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and the Burlington City Police Department for their assistance in the investigation and arrest.
