Three juveniles were arrested after leading Pleasantville police on a chase in a stolen car. The driver is still being sought.
Pleasantville was called at about 9 Monday morning and told that a red Subaru reported stolen from Somers Point was in the area of Ansley and Franklin boulevards, Capt. Matt Hartman said.
Patrolmen John Marciante and Victor Nelson were responding when they saw the car at West Jersey Avenue and Main Street. But instead of stopping for the officers, the driver went north on Main and then east on Delilah Road onto Route 30 into Atlantic City, Hartman said.
A witness told BreakingAC he saw the car come down Martin Luther King Boulevard with several vehicles in pursuit.
It then went west on Arctic, and struck a car around Mississippi Avenue, Hartman said.
It continued until it struck a parked car on Florida Avenue.
All four occupants then ran on foot.
Two teenage boys and a teen girl were caught by Marciante, Nelson and Pleasantville Patrolman Juan Morillo.
The unidentified male driver was not found, despite an extensive search in by police from Pleasantville and Atlantic City, including K-9 dogs.
Arrested were a 16-year-old girl from Somers Point, and two 17-year-old boys — one from Mays Landing and one from Egg Harbor Township.
Pleasantville police charged them with joyriding.
The Mays Landing was additionally charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana.
All three were turned over to Somers Point police.
