Two charged in Galloway boating incident that killed woman

  • News

Two men are charged in an allegedly drunken boating accident that killed a Mays Landing woman Sunday night.
Arthur Lesbirel III was traveling south near waterway marking area 177 off Galloway Township at about 7:30 p.m., when the woman was ejected from the 18-foot Beachcraft and then struck by the propeller, Trooper Alejandro Goez said.
Iesha Calero-Thies was brought back into the boat by those on board, and taken to the Atlantic City Coast Guard Station, according to the report.
She then was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, where the 39-year-old mother was pronounced dead, Goez said.
Lesbirel, 42, of Mays Landing, was charged with boating under the influence.
The boat’s owner, Robert Pruchnicki, 34, of Galloway Township, was charged with allowing someone under the influence to operate the vessel, Goez said.
More charges are pending, Goez said. The investigation is ongoing.
