Atlantic City man allegedly threatened EHT woman's life, hit her brother with baseball bat

  • News

An Atlantic City man has been indicted on multiple charges after he allegedly threatened to cut a woman’s head off, and later tried to steal her dog and assaulted her brother with a baseball bat.
Ronald Zurner, 38, allegedly threatened the unidentified Egg Harbor Township woman’s life numerous times, according to the charges.
The woman told Atlantic City police that on April 18, Zurner threatened to cut her head off and throw it in the woods, according to the charges.
He also said he would cut off her lips and knock her teeth in.
Zurner also allegedly said he would commit terroristic acts if she went to the police.
The next day, after she went to police, Zurner came to the woman’s township home to steal her dog, according to the affidavit.
During that incident, Zurner allegedly struck the woman’s brother in the head with a baseball bat.
Zurner was arrested and taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, where he spent one day, jail records show.
It was not clear if a detention hearing was held or he was just released with a court date following his first appearance.
Zurner was indicted last week on third-degree charges of terroristic threats, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was also indicted on a fourth-degree charges of reckless aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon.
The investigation was conducted by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, along with Atlantic City and Egg Harbor Township police.
