A Gloucester County man accused of running over a woman as he escaped a car crash with the woman is now in jail, records show.
Dalton Storms, 21, of Franklinville, is charged with aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury, endangering an injured victim and violating a law intended to protect public health and safety in connection with the May 24 crash.
A 56-year-old Villas woman was stopped in traffic heading east on Rio Grande Avenue, when she was rear-ended by a Dodge Challenger, witnesses told police.
She and the driver of that car then got into a verbal altercation. The man then tried to leaven, when the woman stood in front of his car, he ran her over, according to police.
An investigation identified the driver as Dalton.
He is in the Cape May County Jail, records show.
Storms turned himself in, police told NBC10.
