An Atlantic City man wanted after a first-grader unknowingly took his gun to school has been arrested.
Lamar Keith Williamson, 33, was arrested without incident at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
He was wanted after the 7-year-old Atlantic Community Charter School student discovered the loaded handgun in the backpack at school and notified staff.
Williamson is a relative who had been staying with the student's family. He was taken into custody by officers from Galloway and Hamilton townships along with members of the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Task Force.
He is accused of endangering the welfare of children, unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
He was being taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility on a warrant.
