An Atlantic City woman's 1-year-old was in the backseat when she hit a parked car while under the influence, police said Thursday.
Deleisha Gadson, 38, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, along with numerous motor vehicle violations, including driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and having an open container of alcohol.
Police were called to the 100 block of Caspian Avenue just before 5 p.m. Tuesday for the report of a vehicle striking a parked car, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
They found Gadson behind the wheel of her Nissan Altima and her 1-year-old in the back seat, Fair said.
The child was not injured.
Gadson showed signs of impairment and then failed a field sobriety test, according to the report.
The child was turned over to a family member.
Gadson was released on a summons.
