Five injured in two Rt 30 crashes within 20 minutes

Two crashes within 20 minutes hospitalized five people, Atlantic City police said.
Both crashes were Thursday night on Route 30, Sgt. Kevin Fair said Friday.
Police were called to a two-car crash at 8:09 p.m. at Route 30 and Huron Avenue for a two-car crash.
Both vehicles ended up off the road, with one striking an electric box causing the traffic lights to go out, Fair said.
Both drivers and a passenger in each vehicle were taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus for minor injuries.
It took about two hours to fix the traffic lights.
At 8:28 pm, officers responded to the westbound lanes of Route 30.
Absecon police had arrived on scene of a crash that involved a motorcycle, which was traveling at a high rate of speed, rear-ending a car, according to the report.

The 36-year-old Atlantic City man was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Officer Tyler Daily is investigating both crashes.
