  • News

A Camden man pleaded guilty in a 2017 fight that led to an Atlantic City man’s death, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner announced Friday.
Johnny Morgan, 34, pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated manslaughter in the death of Andrew McGarrigel. McGarrigel, 53, died Nov. 23, 2017, about three weeks after Morgan punched him once in the head during an altercation in the area of North Virginia Avenue in Atlantic City, according to the charges. McGarrigel never regained consciousness. The cause of death was head injuries with complications, and it was ruled a homicide.

Morgan faces 15 years in prison when he is sentenced April 26. He would have to serve 85 percent under the No Early Release Act.
