A suspect in a liquor store robbery was caught after an Atlantic City police officer saw him wearing the same clothes as he had at the scene the night before, police said.
Officer Brandon Bower saw the man walking down Morris Avenue at about 10:45 p.m. Monday, just more than 24 hours after the robbery took place, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
Mark Jones, 37, of Mays Landing, as still wearing the same clothes he had on in a surveillance photo distributed to officers, according to the report.
Police were called to the Fairmount Liquor Store at about 10:30 Sunday night, for the report of a robbery.
Jones allegedly went into the store, distracted the clerk, then grabbed a case of Grey Goose vodka and fled.
When the clerk tried to stop him, Jones threatened to shoot him, motioning to his waistband indicating he had a gun, according to the report.
No gun was shown or recovered.
Jones is charged with robbery and shoplifting and was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
