Fire displaces seven in Egg Harbor Township

An early morning fire in Egg Harbor Township caused an estimated $100,000 in damages Monday.
Bargaintown and Scullville fire companies were sent to the home on Leap Street at about 12:30 a.m., according to the report.
There were no injuries. Seven people were displaced, including children.
When firefighters arrived, they said there was heavy fire in the garage spreading to the second floor and attic.
A fast team was called from Somers Point and an additional engine for manpower from Cardiff, officials said.
Members from Bargaintown's and Scullville’s auxiliaries assisted with refreshments for firefighters.
The Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad provided rehab for firefighters while Egg Harbor Township police assisted with road closures and keeping the fire scene clear.
The fire was brought under control by 4 a.m.
