A 17-year-old was arrested after he walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound and drugs, Atlantic City police said.
It was later determined he shot himself in the leg.
The teen walked into the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus just before 10 p.m. Thursday, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
During the initial investigation, the juvenile was found in possession of 79 bags of heroin, 36 bags of cocaine, three grams of marijuana and one spent shell casing.
He was treated for his wound and then arrested, Fair said.
He is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and two counts of possession with the intent to distribute CDS.
He was released to his parents with a court date.
