Hammonton police clear explosives call

  • News

A call of a possible explosive device in Hammonton turned out to be inactive, police said.
Police were called to the 300 block of Middle Road on Monday.
Hammonton police along with the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and Atlantic City's Bomb Unit responded and determined it was an inert devise, police said.
An explosives detection K-9 from Hamilton Township helped police in a search of the area to make sure there were no other devices, and nothing was found, according to the report.
Hammonton volunteer firefighters and AtlantiCare EMS were on standby.
