A Pleasantville man was arrested Tuesday, after Atlantic City police say he was caught in a drug deal.
Officers Chris LoDico and Isaiah Johnson were doing a park-and-walk on Atlantic Avenue, when they saw a man loitering around Tennessee Avenue, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
A concerned resident told them the man sells drugs, according to the report.
The officers then saw Malik Waddell made a drug deal, and stopped him, Fair said.
Waddell at first gave police an alias, Fair said.
He was then allegedly found with 60 bags of heroin and arrested.
After he was fingerprinted, he was positively identified as Waddell, and was wanted on an active warrant, Fair said.
The other man was not found.
Waddell, 26, previously pleaded guilty to a heroin charge in a 2014 case, court records show. He also was arrested in December 2016, in a stolen car with two other men, two loaded guns and drugs, police said at the time. It was not clear where that case stands.
Waddell is now charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone, hindering apprehension and contempt of court.
He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
