An armed robbery suspect was arrested after he allegedly dropped his gun while fleeing Atlantic City police.
A 33-year-old man stopped Officer Janicquea Harold around Indiana and Atlantic avenues just after 7 a.m. Friday, saying he was robbed at gunpoint, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
The unnamed victim said the suspect pointed a gun and took his money while two other men acted as lookout, according to the report.
The officer saw a man matching the description, who fled as she exited her patrol car, Fair said.
As Yakeem Green jumped a fence, a loaded handgun fell from his clothing, according to the report.
Harold picked up the gun, and told responding officers which way Green fled.
Officers Bria Hill, Michael Kragh and Zayon Pitts found Green a block away, and arrested him without incident, Fair said.
Green, 26, of Atlantic City, was charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and conspiracy.
Green was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
He was jailed on a robbery charge in 2015, court records show. He pleaded guilty to resisting and served 157 days in jail.
