Officials have released the name of a man fatally shot in Atlantic City on Thursday.
Bernard Murphy, 36, was found dead at about 11:30 p.m. in the area of Florida and Pacific avenues, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner announced Saturday afternoon.
BreakingAC reported Friday morning that the man was found in front of a home on the first block of South Florida Avenue by officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert.
A crime scene was found in front of a home just north of where the victim was found.
Murphy is originally from Brooklyn, and moved to Atlantic City a few years ago with his mother and brother, a family member told BreakingAC.
No arrests have been made in the killing, Tyner said.
The release made no mention of a teen arrested after fleeing a car seen driving from the area.
He is in the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center after allegedly throwing two guns when he ran.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating Murphy's killing.
