An Atlantic City man in the Thursday shooting that killed a man in the city.
Roberto Rios, 31, was arrested Monday on charges of murder and weapons offenses in the killing of Bernard Murphy, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner announced Tuesday.
Murphy, 36, was found dead after police were called to the area of Florida and Pacific avenues at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday by a ShotSpotter alert.
An investigation found Rios shot Murphy several times, then fled in a car with a juvenile.
The 17-year-old ran from the vehicle and threw out two firearms, which were recovered from the bay in the area of Sunset and Nevada avenues.
The teen was arrested that night and charged with weapons and eluding offenses. He is in the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center.
Rios is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility awaiting a detention hearing.
