An Atlantic City woman was killed after she was struck by a car Wednesday night in Egg Harbor Township.
Mary Beal, 82, of Egg Harbor Township, was driving west on the Black Horse Pike when she encountered the pedestrian in the roadway at about 9:30 p.m., Lt. Robert Gray said.
Yoriana Alonso-Guzman was struck by Beal's vehicle, according to the report.
Alonso-Guzman, 35, died of her injuries.
The westbound lanes of the Black Horse Pike, between Ivins and English Creek avenues were shut down for about three hours while the crash scene was being investigated and cleared.
The Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company and NJ State Department of Transportation assisted Egg Harbor Township officers at the scene.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Sgt. Larry Graham and Officers Patrick Daly, Robert Moran and Louis Poletis, along with members of the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
No summonses have been issued at this time.
