An Egg Harbor Township man was struck and killed crossing the Black Horse Pike on Monday night.
Police were called to the area in front of Rental Country in the township’s Cardiff section just before 9 p.m., Lt. Robert Gray said.
Jose Santiago, 33, was struck by a Mercedes Benz driven by Vicente Luna, who was heading east at the time, according to the report.
The impact threw Santiago about 75 feet, and he was struck by a second vehicle that left the scene and has not yet been identified, Gray said.
Santiago was pronounced dead at the scene.
Luna, 36, of Vineland, was given a ticket for driving while suspended and a charged criminally with being involved in a fatal crash while his license was suspended.
The area was shut down for about three hours while the investigation was conducted and scene was cleared.
Sgt. Larry Graham and Officers James Ludwig and Benjamin Kollman are investigating.
