Absecon police are asking anyone missing plants or statues from their home to contact them after arresting a man for stealing hanging flower pots.
Jimmie Anderson, a longtime bail bondsman, was arrested Monday, after a resident’s doorbell camera captured him stealing the pots from the home off North Short Road just after 3 a.m. Sunday, police said.
When officers went to Anderson’s home to speak with him, there were several other alleged theft proceeds visible within his yard, including potted plants and lawn statues.
Property identified from previous reported theft cases and items believed to have been stolen were confiscated pending further investigation, police said.
Anderson was charged with theft and receiving stolen property.
Anyone who has had a plant, shrub, hanging flower pot, and/or statue or lawn ornament stolen is asked to call Absecon police at 609-641-0667.
