Double-parking Atlantic City led to a trip to jail for a Millville man.
Kirk Williams was seen doubled-parked in the 1400 block of Atlantic Avenue at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
The driver started to leave after Officer Aaron Jones spoke with him, but then Jones realized he recognized the man as a suspect in an earlier robbery.
About 4½ hours earlier, a couple from Baltimore said they were approached by a man who stole their belongings at gunpoint in the 1700 block of the Boardwalk, Fair said.
Surveillance Center personnel were able to get photographs of the suspect, and the vehicle he used, according to the report.
Jones stopped Williams’ car, and inside found an item belonging to the victims, including clothing he wore during the robbery, Fair said.
Williams, 24, just got out of prison last October after serving 20 months on weapon and obstruction charges, records show.
Atlantic City police arrested him Thursday, after an investigation by detectives of the Street Crimes Unit, Fair said.
He was charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon and certain person not to possess a weapon.
He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
