A man and woman were arrested after a loaded gun was found during a car stop in Atlantic City, police said.
Detective Anthony Abrams pulled the vehicle over at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of Virginia Avenue, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
During the stop, he found that the driver, Rashaad Mustafa, had a suspended license.
He then found a loaded handgun inside the vehicle, according to the report.
Mustafa and his passenger, Jasmine Smith, were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a high-capacity magazine.
Mustafa, 29, of Atlantic City, was also charged with certain person not to possess a weapon, along with traffic summonses. He previously pleaded guilty in cases involving drugs and theft, court records show.
Mustafa was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Smith, 20, of Pleasantville, was released on a summons.
