You've heard of firefighters rescuing a cat in a tree.
How about a police officer saving a dog caught under a bus?
A NJ Transit bus was stopped at Kentucky and Baltic avenues Friday morning, when a small dog ran under and would not come out.
When coaxing didn't work, Officer Cindy Rongione, the city's Humane officer, crawled under the bus to get the dog out, with help from city firefighters, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
Despite the pup's attempts to bite the officer, he was freed after about 45 minutes, Fair said.
The dog was then taken to the Humane Society to make sure he was not hurt.
