Holy Spirit student's 'concerning statements' spark investigation

  • News

Detectives are investigating a Holy Spirit High School student allegedly made some “concerning statements,” BreakingAC has learned.
Parents received an email Thursday to make them aware of the incident.
Absecon police on Wednesday “received a report from outside the school that a student had made some concerning statements,” Principal Thomas Farren Sr. said in the email, which he forwarded to BreakingAC. “There was no an imminent threat, but police needed to follow up on the report.”
Police spoke with the student and the student’s parents. It was not revealed whether the student is a boy or girl.
The student is not in school as the investigation is ongoing.
Both Farren and Absecon police referred questions to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
“We will continue to follow our safety and security protocols, and will continue to cooperate with the police investigation as needed,” Farren wrote.
