An 84-year-old woman from Egg Harbor Township with underlying health conditions is the latest county death attributed to COVID-19.
The death is the 19th in the county said to be coronavirus-related. The recovery number remains at 71.
Deaths attributed to the coronavirus are confirmed to the Division of Public Health through the hospital and medical examiner, county spokeswoman Linda Gilmore told BreakingAC.
The county also announced 22 newly confirmed cases Saturday.
Those new cases consist of six Hammonton residents, three from Linwood and two residents each from Pleasantville, and Egg Harbor and Hamilton townships. Absecon, Brigantine, Buena, Galloway Township, Northfield, Somers Point and Ventnor each had one new positive test, bringing the county total to 392 residents.The state is also now releasing the number of cases in long-term care facilities by county.There are eight such Atlantic County facilities with outbreaks for a total of 56 cases. Atlantic County is accepting appointments for two additional drive-thru test dates next Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. behind the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing.
Residents must be symptomatic for respiratory illness, provide a doctor’s script, proof of residency and confirmation of appointment.
