Six more Atlantic County residents have died from coronavirus complications, the county’s Division of Public Health said Thursday.Each of the patients had pre-existing conditions that made them more vulnerable.Five of the patients were from Hammonton, bringing to eight deaths there reported in the last three days.Those from Hammonton are a 70-year-old man, two 79-year-old women, a 75-year-old woman, and a 98-year-old woman. A 79-year-old man from Galloway Township also died.The county reported 33 newly confirmed cases, including 13 men ages 26 to 90 and 20 women ages 22-97.
That brings the total number to 551 residents confirmed with COVID-19, including 29 who have died, and 108 listed as recovered.The newly confirmed cases include five residents each from Galloway Township and Northfield, four from Egg Harbor Township and Hammonton, three from Atlantic City, and two each from Linwood, Mullica Township, Somers Point and Ventnor.Buena Vista Township, Folsom, Hamilton Township and Margate each have one newly confirmed case.
Atlantic County will continue testing next week from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Hamilton Township site.Atlantic City will start testing qualifying residents next week at two sites.
For all sights, residents must be symptomatic for respiratory illness, provide a doctor’s script, proof of residency and confirmation of appointment.
