An Egg Harbor Township woman and Hammonton man are the latest Atlantic County deaths attributed to COVID-19.The 91-year-old woman and 83-year-old man both had pre-existing health conditions that contributed to their deaths.County health officials also confirmed 25 more residents have tested positive, including 12 men, ages 28 to 80 and 13 women, ages 18 to 96. Thirty more residents have been cleared as recovered, bringing that total to 157.
Almost 700 residents have been tested at the Atlantic County site in Hamilton Township, with 27.1 percent testing positive. That is well below the state positivity rate, which has hovered between about 41 and 45 percent.
The countywide total is now 903 confirmed cases, with 37 deaths.The newest confirmed cases include six residents each in Hammonton and Galloway Township, and three residents in Mullica Township.
Northfield, along with Egg Harbor and Hamilton townships each have two newly confirmed positive residents. Buena Borough, Buena Vista, Estell Manor and Port Republic each had one new confirmation.
Atlantic County also announced additional drive-thru testing dates for next Tuesday and Thursday, which are by appointment only and require symptoms and a doctor's prescription.They will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing.
