  • News

An Atlantic City man died after being struck by a car early Sunday morning.
Thomas Kovsh, 29, was walking in the eastbound lane of traffic on Atlantic Avenue pushing a bike at about 3:15 a.m., Lt. Kevin Fair said.
An eastbound vehicle swerved to avoid striking him. He was then struck by the vehicle behind that one, according to a preliminary investigation by Officer Joseph Bereheiko.
The driver, 24-year-old Murray Kanter of Ventnor, immediately stopped, according to the report.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Kovsh was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus, where he was pronounced dead.
Anyone with information is asked to call Atlantic City police at 609-347-5744. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
