Gyms will reopen at 25% capacity Sept. 1, governor says

  • News

Residents who have been missing the gym will get some good news Wednesday.
The opening will happen in limited capacity Sept. 1, Gov. Phil Murphy announced during his daily update.
He said he also hopes to have indoor dining back some time in the middle of September.
Personal trainers have been allowed to do appointment-only sessions since July 2. But most have remained closed.
The new guidelines for re-opening will include a maximum indoor capacity of 25 percent of indoor capacity.
The continued closure of gyms was met with continued resistance from a Camden County gym.
Ian Smith and Frank Trumbetti have faced a judge, taken the doors off their Atilis gym and even been arrested in their efforts to keep the Bellmawr business running despite the governor's orders.
