A car stop led to the arrest of four people along with guns and materials for a meth lab, Atlantic City police said Friday.
Officer Aaron Jones stopped the car at 10:37 Thursday morning in the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue after he saw one of the occupants engage in a drug transaction, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Inside the car, officers found a 22-caliber rifle, a handgun, 17 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of heroin, and a large bag containing items to cook, produce and store methamphetamine, according to the report.
The New Jersey State Police Hazardous Materials Response Team were called in to assist in this investigation.
Colleen Coffin and Timothy Kurkierewicz, both 41 of Havertown, Pa., along with Timothy Collins, 34, and Juliya Hess, 27, both of Downington, Pa., were charged with maintaining a drug-production facility, along with drug and weapons offenses.
All four were taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending detention hearings.
