An Atlantic City man is charge with running a drug-production facility out of his home, police said.Walter Matthews, 46, was arrested Friday, after a month-long investigation led by Detective Brian Hambrecht, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.A search of his home at Altman Terrace led to more than 1,000 bags of heroin and 20 grams of the unpackaged drug, along with blenders, scales, rubber bands and empty bags used for distribution, according to the report.There was also an active warrant for his arrest.Matthews was charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute within a public zone, possession with intent to distribute within a school zone, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a drug-production facility and contempt of court.
He is being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
