Cape man gets five years in child pornography case

A Cape May County man was sentenced to five years in prison for getting an underage Canadian girl to send him sexually explicit images of herself.
Shawn Patrick Rose Jr., 22, of Woodbine, pleaded guilty in October to second-degree manufacturing of child pornography and third-degree impairing or debauching the morals of a child, Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said Friday.
Detectives found numerous files of child pornography on Rose’s computers and cell phone after a search of his home May 11, 2017. A forensic examination of his cell phone found sexually explicit images of the 14-year-old victim in Canada, Grewal said.Rose had engaged in sexually explicit chats with multiple underage victims, Grewal said.
Rose also will have to register as a Megan’s Law offender and be subject to lifetime parole supervision.
