Atlantic City boy charged in assault, robbery

A 14-year-old boy is accused of beating a robbing a man in Atlantic City.Officers were called to the 1700 block of Arctic Avenue for a man being assaulted at 5:13 p.m., Sgt. Kevin Fair said.They found a 49-year-old city resident with injuries to his upper body who said he had been assaulted and his cell phone and wallet were taken, according to the report.An investigation by Officer Justin Draper led the teen who lives in an apartment on the same block, Fair said.The unnamed juvenile had fresh injuries to his hands and was arrested without incident, according to the report.He is charged with robbery, theft and simple assault, and was taken to the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center.The victim was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for his injuries.
