A Somers Point man was ticketed for careless driving after he crashed into the woods in Egg Harbor Township on Friday morning.Christopher Cottrell, 29, was heading north on Route 559 just past the Green Tree Golf Course at about 6:45 a.m., when his Jeep left the road, crossed through a front yard and traveled about 50 feet into the woods, Lt. Stephen Slusarski said.The Jeep struck several trees, and became disabled, according to the report.It had to be removed with a tow truck.Cottrell refused medical treatment at the scene, Slusarski said.He was given a ticket for careless driving.The crash is being investigated by Officer Jim Ludwig.Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call police at 609-926-2661.
