Millville woman charged with deadly nail clipper attack

  • News
A Millville woman is charged with murder after allegedly stabbing a man with nail clippers in the home they shared. Axel Torres, 35, was found unresponsive with a stab wound to his left leg when police arrived at the Second Street home just after 1 a.m. Sunday, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Web-McRae said. Torres was taken to the hospital in critical condition. An investigation found that Torres and Katheleen Ayala, 30, had gotten into a fight at the home, and Torres left with Ayala chasing after him, according to the report. It was then that Ayala allegedly stabbed Torres, leaving him unconscious with several stab wounds, the charges claim. The report says Torres was transported back to the residence, although does not indicate how. Police were then called to the scene. Ayala was originally charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses. After Torres died Monday morning, Ayala was charged with murder. She was booked into the Cumberland County jail that night, jail records show.
