An Atlantic City man accused of assaulting and robbing a woman a year ago is now in prison for that attack.Alexander Olaik, now 25, pleaded guilty in the Jan. 14, 2019 attack.The 50-year-old city resident told police Olaik pushed her and stole her cell phone while she waited for the bus that afternoon at Brighton and Atlantic avenues.After she chased him, he then stopped, assaulted her and stole the purse, according to the report.
Olaik already had served time in Florida for beating his then-81-year-old grandmother.The woman said she slipped and fell when she was hospitalized just after midnight Feb. 24, 2017, but doctors said her injuries were not consistent with a fall. Olaik is currently in Northern State Prison after pleading guilty last year in the Atlantic City case.His release date is currently Aug. 2, 2021.
