A Galloway Township man was allegedly involved in an attempted murder a month after he was arrested with a loaded gun during a car stop.
Isiah Tolbert, now 21, is one of three township men charged in a Dec. 2, 2018, shooting that wounded Dontay Brooks on Federal Court in the township.
Tolbert was arrested a month before when Galloway police stopped a car he was a passenger in and found him in possession of a gun loaded with hollow-point bullets, according to information released by police at the time.
He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility on Nov. 1, 2018, and released that same day, jail records show.
Tolbert was arrested again last August on drug charges, and has remained in the county jail since.
He was served Friday with the new charges, including conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder.
Tolbert and two others are accused of approaching Brooks at about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2, 2018, and shooting him three times.
He was struck once in the abdomen.
Navail Washington, 22, and Shamar Jackson, 19, both of Galloway, are also charged. Washington is additionally charged with heroin possession and distribution.
Washington and Jackson were arrested Thursday and are now in the Atlantic County jail.
