Two airlifted, five others hurt in Atlantic City Expressway crash

The Atlantic City Expressway is closed heading toward the city after a crash caused multiple injuries Saturday morning.
The crash happened at about 7:15 a.m. eastbound near mile marker 8.9, State Police Sgt. Lawrence Peele said.
Both the Honda Accord and Hino box truck went off the roadway, with the box truck overturning.
The car's driver and front seat passenger were airlifted from the scene and were listed in serious condition as of Sunday morning.
Three car's backseat passengers and the truck's two occupant sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Traffic remained backed up for hours.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
